Cienna - A Teen Court Participant
She’s an enthusiastic participant in our New Hanover County Teen Court program who dreams of becoming a civil rights attorney!
Her drive is impressive; She’s a competitive swimmer, she kickboxes, and her favorite class is her AP Language class because it allows her to “analyze arguments and discuss the strategies used to enhance them.”
Her involvement in Teen Court has allowed her to practice the skills needed to stand up for others in the courtroom someday. The program’s coordinator, Tamia Boyd, says Cienna is kind, observant, and has a natural gift for reading people.
“Tamia Boyd has helped me by continuing to have faith in me at Teen Court, and her praise and interest in my life has helped build my confidence,” added Cienna. “Teen Court has given me the opportunity and the skillset to apply for the District Attorney Leadership Academy, which I learned a lot from, and has continued to foster my want to be a civil rights attorney.”
Excellent job, Cienna!
