Raain - A Heart for Helping Others

Raain plans to go to CFCC for her associates degree. In the future, she wants to become an occupational therapist for children!

“I want to help kids with special needs through occupational therapy,” said Raain on how she’d change the world.

Her CIS Student Support Specialist, Ms. Meryl Estep, wasn't surprised to hear Raain plans to help others as a career path.

“Raain is a one of a kind student. She is hilarious, kind, smart, and always looks out for those she cares about," Ms. Meryl explains.

“Ms. Meryl and the CIS staff were always there to help me when I needed it, they were the best help ever. They helped me catch up on my life and were always a good support system. They always listened when I needed someone to talk to, and helped me make the right decisions at school,” said Raain. “My favorite activity we did was when we would all paint together during FLEX. It was a time to chill and relax which was nice because school can be stressful!”

"She follows the beat of her own drum, and is a breath of fresh air as she makes everyone laugh along the way. Her confidence shines through, and she has been such a joy to work with these last couple of years. We will absolutely miss her carefree personality and her humor here at Laney; we can’t wait to see all that you accomplish in life Raain,” said CIS Staff Member Ms. Meryl Estep. ✨
