Created to Become

"For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." Ephesians 2:10

Insight

Have you ever felt that nagging sensation deep within—the one that whispers you were meant for more? That feeling isn't just restlessness; it's recognition of a profound truth: you were created by God and for God.

Our lives often settle into comfortable routines, filled with good intentions that never quite materialize into lasting change. We respond to this disconnect through regret, finding it easier to dwell on past mistakes than to embrace transformation. But regret-driven change is like treating symptoms while ignoring the underlying condition—it might provide temporary relief but never leads to true freedom.

The path to becoming who God designed us to be requires disruption. Not the chaos kind, but the divine kind—where we step out of our normal rhythms to see ourselves through God's eyes. This perspective shift isn't about promising to be better; it's about recognizing that every aspect of our lives finds its meaning and purpose in relationship with our Creator.

Think of a masterpiece in an art gallery. Its value isn't determined by its individual components—canvas, paint, frame—but by the artist's vision and purpose for it. Similarly, your value and purpose flow from your relationship with your Creator. When we view our lives through this lens, we begin to see God's transformative work not as disruption, but as restoration to our intended design.

Reflection

  • What areas of your life have become too comfortable, potentially preventing you from becoming who God created you to be?

  • How has regret-driven change affected your spiritual journey, and what might change if you viewed yourself through God's perspective instead?

  • What specific disruption might God be inviting you into today?

Prayer

Loving Father, help me see myself through Your eyes and understand the purpose for which You created me. Give me the courage to step out of comfortable routines that hold me back from becoming all You designed me to be. Transform my regret into hope as I embrace Your vision for my life. Amen.
