Treasure Island Large Group Coordinator - Wilmington

Position: Full Time - Hourly
Reports To: Pastor of Children’s Ministry

Port City Community Church’s mission is to reach people and help them walk with God. Children’s Ministry fulfills this mission by teaching children God’s truths in developmentally appropriate ways, empowering teams to connect with children, and coming alongside families as they walk together with God.

Purpose:

This individual will report to the Pastor of Children’s Ministry at the Wilmington campus, supporting the mission of PC3 and children’s ministry by:

  • Assisting the Pastor of Children’s Ministry in coordinating and supporting an engaging Sunday large group experience in keeping with the overall purpose and values of Port City Community Church.

    • Result: Treasure Island will have a Sunday large group experience that accurately represents the culture of Treasure Island and effectively helps children develop a growing relationship with God.

  • Adapting the curriculum for Treasure Island’s Sunday experience;

    • Result: Treasure Island will have Sunday curriculum that clearly supports and aligns with the overarching learning goals, principles and values of the ministry.

  • Collaborating with the Treasure Island staff at all PC3 campuses on adaptation and implementation;

    • Result: The campus Treasure Island staff will have the knowledge and training to adapt the Sunday curriculum for their own contexts easily and simply.

  • Sourcing, purchasing, and distributing appropriate Treasure Island materials.

    • Result: The Treasure Island Coordinator will engage a team of volunteers to handle the practical implementation of Sunday large group curriculum.

Position Specification:

  • Must be a believer of Jesus Christ and an active participant of Port City Community Church (a history of active participation is preferable).

  • Must demonstrate a value of and naturally participate in personal evangelism.

  • Must be passionate about reaching kids and teaching them about Christ

  • Must be a team-oriented person with the ability to design, implement and mature objectives of the Treasure Island ministry.

  • Must excel in ministry commitment, conduct and professionalism.

  • Must possess training and development skills.

  • Must be action and goal oriented.

  • Experience must include program development and execution. Must be able to assist in financial planning and management of the operations of Treasure Island ministry.

  • Must be computer literate.

  • Excellent organization and diplomacy skills are essential.

  • Must be highly ethical and able to process sensitive information confidentially.

  • Must demonstrate an acceptable balance of confidence and humility, and

  • Be willing to proactively address issues in accordance with scripture and in alignment with the Port City Community Church statement of faith.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of a clear vision and goals for all aspects of the Treasure Island ministry;

  • Responsible for adapting and implementing Treasure Island’s Sunday large group program, including but not limited to;

    • Sunday program content

    • Children’s worship experiences; including, but not limited to Sundays

    • Supplies for program activities

    • Preparing and maintaining classrooms and environment for kids

    • Gathering, building and maintaining props, costuming and supplies

    • Miscellaneous theming

  • Plan, coordinate, administrate tasks/logistics to recruit, audition and train an engaging team of volunteers, including stage and production volunteers that reflect the overall purpose and values of Treasure Island

  • Execute curriculum systems; ensuring that the program executed at each campus reflects the overall purpose and values of Treasure Island.

  • Regular and ongoing collaboration with the Treasure Island Volunteer Coordinator to ensure volunteers are trained and equipped to serve with confidence

  • Identify and empower key volunteers to work with while delegating duties

  • Regular and ongoing collaboration with the children’s ministry team to ensure cohesion in content and curriculum across the ministry;

  • Take a lead role in coordinating Treasure Island’s summer camp experience

  • Regular and ongoing collaboration with the Production Coordinator to maintain overall functionality and level of production and environment

  • Take an active role in children’s ministry meetings

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

General Work Schedule:

Full time (40 hours, excluding lunch. Schedule will need to be flexible through the week and weekends to float between gatherings and work different church events)

    Monday — Thursday 8:00pm – 4:00pm

    Sunday 7:00am to 1:00pm (attending one service)

Pay Range begins at $35,360 and is dependant upon candidate, years of experience, etc.
