Port City Kids - TOPICS
We don’t have all the answers, but we believe there is value in being and learning together! A few times a year we have parent conversations around a variety of topics that parents of kids birth through fifth grade are navigating. The hope is not to teach a specific way, but to instead open the door for a conversation and learn TOGETHER! These classes are helpful to connect with other parents in a similar season and encouraging as we step into the role God has called us to as parents!
TOPICS classes are held during our 9am gathering at the Wilmington campus. Part of the class is listening, part is sharing in small groups, and after each class, parents will leave with practical next steps and resources. JAN 26 | DISCIPLINE THROUGH THE LENS OF DISCIPLESHIP
Discipline begins at a very young age and (unfortunately) remains a part of parenting even as they grow. However, is there a way to discipline through the lens of discipleship? How are these two things more closely related then we may have realized? As we parent our children, we too are being parented by an ever loving, ever present Father, and that has to influence the way we lead our children.
APRIL 13 | NURTURING YOUR MARRIAGE WHILE RAISING KIDS
We may not initially think our marriage influences our parenting, but in reality, it has a tremendous impact on both our daily lives and our children's. How do we prioritize our marriage and what does that practically look like? Why does it matter and what message is our marriage sending to our kids? If unmarried, how can we balance and steward the relationships we have? We know no marriage is perfect and we know every family looks different, we believe there is a space for all parents and caregivers in this conversation as we look out how the relationships we enter into impact the children we are raising.
