Will you join us in praying for our Legacy families and the next generation of kids and families at Port City?
Legacy dedications provide our church with an opportunity to mark a moment where families decide to raise their children to know God and to celebrate their commitment to organizing their families’ lives around the pursuit of God together.
As a church, we have the opportunity and the responsiblity to invest in the next generation. A great place to start is through prayer. While you can pray for the next generation generally, we believe there is something uniquely powerful about praying specifically.
PRAYING FOR OUR LEGACY FAMILIES
Each week, we’ll highlight one of the families that participated in Legacy this semester. We invite you to join us in continuing to pray for these families as we move through the Fall.
The Sapp Family
How can our church pray for you and encourage you as parents?
You can pray for us by praying that the Lord helps us navigate all of the information when it comes to parenting, and lead us on the path that He has chosen for us in preparing our daughter for her life.
How can our church support and pray for your kids?
We would love for our church to join us in praying that the Lord will protect our daughter’s heart and make His presence to known to her. And the best way for Port City to support her would be just to be there for her as much as it has been there for us.
The Creech Family
How can our church pray for you and encourage you as parents?
Pray that we would be constantly filled with God's love to provide that to our daughter. Pray that we would raise our daughter to be who God has called her to be.
How can our church support and pray for your kids?
Pray that she would be surrounded with God's love and strength to know how special she is and that she shows love to others.
The Skipper Family
How can our church pray for you and encourage you as parents?
Pray we can continue to learn ways to share the story of Jesus with our son. Pray that even on days we are tired we can pause and remind ourselves how lucky we are to have this beautiful baby girl. Pray that we are mindful enough to slow down and be in the moment.
How can our church support and pray for your kids?
Pray our daughter continues to grow to be healthy and strong. Pray that she grows up to love the Lord and share that with the world. As she grows up continue to have programs that support her as she learns more about the Lord.
The Pleasant Family
How can our church pray for you and encourage you as parents?
We would like to ask for prayers that we don’t become complacent in our call as parents to teach our girls about who God is, as well as prayers and encouragement to live our lives in a way that demonstrates who Christ is so that they can more tangibly know his love.
How can our church support and pray for your kids?
We ask for prayers that as our kids grow up in this world, that they can resist the temptations that are so abundant and become lights for others so they may also seek God. We are so thankful for what the Church has already done and just ask for continued support in growing our girls in all the fruits of the spirit.
The Dickard Family
How can our church pray for you and encourage you as parents?
The church can pray that we use the tools and information we received in Legacy classes as well as Sunday services to help our two boys grow in a life with God. It can be easy to gather these resources and forget once we walk out on Sundays. Please pray that our communication turns into a lifestyle rather than something we have to think to do.
How can our church support and pray for your kids?
The church can continue to support our boys by providing them with a safe/open space to learn about God and grow in their relationship with him. The church can pray that our boys find peace and joy in knowing God is always with them.
The Parlier Family
How can our church pray for you and encourage you as parents?
The church can pray for/encourage us in our efforts of creating godly habits in our house, having an abundance of patience & love for our son and each other, and keeping us healthy through the fall and holiday season.
How can our church support and pray for your kids?
The church volunteers in grow zone are wonderful in supporting and loving our son. They can pray for him to continue to grow into who God has called him to be, which so far is a fun, energetic, happy little boy.
The Hartzell Family
How can our church pray for you and encourage you as parents?
Having the church pray for us to prioritize God, Spouse, then children. At times it feels like we’re all jumbled up and focused so heavily on the children.
How can our church support and pray for your kids?
Continue to support them as they thrive in Grow Zone and as they age provide opportunities for the children to engage with the church and others in their age group.
The Sutton Family
How can our church pray for you and encourage you as parents?
To trust God as our foundation so that we're strong for each other. For us to embody the Will and Way that has been laid out for us.
How can our church support and pray for your kids?
So that they seek God and see God through us. That they will know they are seen, heard, and loved.
