Send Me
He proclaimed the kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ—with all boldness and without hindrance! Acts 28:31
Insight
In the closing verses of the book of Acts, we encounter a profound summary of the life and ministry of the apostle Paul - a fitting epitaph to a life surrendered to the purposes of God.
Paul’s journey was marked by unwavering commitment and unyielding boldness. He faced trials, tribulations, and hardships, yet he remained steadfast in his devotion to Christ. Despite opposition and adversity, Paul pressed on, driven by a singular passion: to proclaim the gospel of the kingdom.
What set Paul apart was not his eloquence or charisma, but his radical obedience to God. He surrendered his will, his plans, and his ambitions at the feet of Jesus, declaring, “Lord, not my will, but yours be done.” In doing so, Paul embraced a life of radical faith, where every step was guided by the hand of God.
The question for us today is this: Will we surrender to God’s purpose for our lives, even before we know what He will ask of us? Will we echo the words of Isaiah, saying, “Here am I. Send me!”?
Surrendering to God’s purpose requires courage and humility. It means relinquishing control and trusting in His sovereignty. It means stepping out in faith, even when the path ahead seems uncertain. But it is in this place of surrender that we find true freedom and fulfillment.
God is not looking for perfect people; He is looking for willing vessels—those who are willing to say yes to His call, no matter the cost. He is looking for ordinary men and women who will dare to believe that with God, all things are possible.
The story of God changing the world through the church did not end with the closing of the book of Acts. It continues today through passionate believers who are willing to surrender everything for the sake of the gospel. It continues through those who are willing to say with confidence, “Here I am. Send me!”
So let us not shrink back in fear or doubt. Let us embrace the call of God on our lives with boldness and courage. Let us proclaim the kingdom of God and teach about the Lord Jesus Christ with all boldness and without hindrance. For in surrendering to God’s purpose, we will find the greatest adventure of all—the adventure of walking in step with the Creator of the universe.
