Leverage Your Life

"Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms." 1 Peter 4:10

Insight

In our journey of faith, one concept that often eludes us is the idea of leverage. Leverage is not about our striving or our efforts; it's about stewardship, a posture of curiosity, availability, and openness. Leverage is what happens when we make anything we have available for anything God wants. It encourages us to look inward and consider how we can make the most of the gifts God has entrusted to us.

Deep down, we all aspire to make a significant impact, but our doubts and insecurities often hold us back. We underestimate our potential, not realizing the hidden treasures within us. Your life, with all its experiences, dreams, challenges, and resources, becomes a canvas for God's work. All of this is usable according to God's promise of redemption. To live out our purpose, we must understand ourselves, not in a self-centered way, but by giving ourselves away to others in love and self-sacrifice.

Our impact is not limited to grand gestures or dramatic events; it's profoundly felt in the ordinary moments of life. We have the privilege of offering God our everyday routines, small acts of kindness, and ordinary conversations. The starting point for recognizing our potential is our identity in Christ. It's not about trying to be someone we're not; it's about embracing who we are in Him, understanding that we can reflect His love and grace to the world in our unique, imperfect selves.

Within each of us lies a God-given desire to create, find meaning, and make a difference in the world. This desire isn't selfish; it's a reflection of God's image within us. When we align this desire with His purposes, we find a sense of fulfillment and joy that goes beyond the ordinary.

Leverage involves sacrifice, but it's not merely about what we give up; it's about what we make available. It's about being open to God's leading and using what we have for His glory. We must continually ask ourselves, "What are we willing to make available?" This question challenges us to let go of self-doubt, insecurity, and excuses and instead, step out in faith.

In your life, there are talents, resources, and opportunities waiting to be leveraged for God's kingdom. When you offer what you have, no matter how small or ordinary it may seem, you become a part of God's grand design. Your availability, in His hands, can multiply blessings beyond your imagination.

Embrace leverage as a journey of trust and surrender. Let go of your doubts, and instead, consider what God can do through you. Remember that sacrifice isn't just what you give up but what you make available. Start with what you have today, and watch God turn your ordinary into something extraordinary for His glory.

Reflection

  • In what areas of your life do you struggle to recognize and leverage the gifts and resources God has entrusted to you for His purposes?

  • How can you shift your perspective from focusing on what you may need to give up to what you are willing to make available in your journey of faith and stewardship?

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the gifts and resources You've entrusted to us. Help us recognize and leverage these treasures for Your purposes so that our lives may reflect Your love and grace. Grant us the wisdom and courage to shift our focus from self-doubt to an unwavering trust in Your plan, understanding that sacrifice is not merely giving up but making ourselves wholly available to You. In Your name, Jesus. Amen.
